Harder is easier.
My hotel room is on the second floor.
When I come out for breakfast, there’s a family waiting for the elevator.
They’re not carrying luggage, and the steps down to the lobby are right there.
I take the first spot in the parking lot.
As I walk into the store, two guys are honking their horns and arguing over who gets the ultra-close spot that was just vacated.
I’m in the store before they sort it out.
We mistake convenience for happiness.
But all too often, it’s the opposite—we get far more joy from our abilities.
Avoiding hard things shrinks our world.
